Every year the Refugee Welcome Picnic brings together 156 neighbors in Mombasa. I help organize it with 6 other volunteers, and this year our numbers are down. We need people for serving food, washing up and welcoming guests. Shifts are four hours long and you can pick the one that suits you. Food and drinks are provided for all volunteers. It's a family-friendly day, and our goal is to keep it free. No experience is necessary - we'll brief everyone at the start of the day. If you can come with a friend, even better. Please say in the comments which shift works for you. If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.

  • Thanks for sharing this, Upendo. Hope you get there. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it.

Praying for you. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Blessings

      • Stay strong, Upendo. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in.

        • Rooting for you, Upendo. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double.

          • Wishing you peace. Hope you get there. Don't give up
