Every year the Refugee Welcome Picnic brings together 489 neighbors in Sylhet. I help organize it with 12 other volunteers, and this year our numbers are down.
We need people for registration, sorting donations and carrying boxes. Shifts are two to three hours long and you can pick the one that suits you. Food and drinks are provided for all volunteers.
It's a family-friendly day, and our goal is to keep it free. No experience is necessary - we'll brief everyone at the start of the day.
If you can come with a friend, even better. Please say in the comments which shift works for you.
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

So sorry you're going through this, Joy. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Greetings from Lahore.
Good luck, Joy. It takes guts to ask. Well done. I'm in retail myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. Love from Istanbul.
sending strength. Your post was clear and honest. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust
You're not alone, Joy. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. My mother had a similar thing happen so this one hit home
Hope it all works out. I hope things turn around soon. Put this on a community board in Colombo this morning. Take care
Great idea, hope you get there. After 10 years in farming I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Take care.
hope things get better soon, Joy. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. Greetings from Thessaloniki.
