Irene Jepkoech Githinji
Master of bicycle repair, now teaching apprentices
- 🇰🇪 Embakasi, Nairobi, Kenya
- Embakasi Works
- Since 2011
- English, Swahili
I'm a bicycle repair specialist. If you live around Embakasi, there's a good chance I've worked in a building near you.
Apprentices come in nervous and leave proud. That's my favorite part. I always make time for a proper cup of tea.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
More about Irene
Some of my old apprentices now run their own shops. I couldn't be prouder.
Crafts and trades
What gifts mean to Irene: I'd put gifts toward a new set of tools for the next apprentice.
