Chebet Nyambura Ochieng
Self-taught woodcarving artist
- 🇰🇪 Mombasa, Mombasa, Kenya
- Mombasa Studio
- 1992 to 2009
- English, Swahili
I work mostly in woodcarving, sometimes oil painting. My first show was in 1992 at Mombasa Studio, and nobody came except my family and one confused dog.
I also teach a weekly class at Mombasa Studio, which keeps me honest.

If you've bought a piece of mine, thank you. It's on someone's wall and that still amazes me.
