Zola's school year: uniform, books and a laptop
Zola earned a place in Grade 9 at the Cape Town Selective School; we are $250 short on required supplies.

I earned a place in Grade 9 at the Cape Town Selective School, and I couldn't be prouder. The school has a long list of things I need, including a laptop for the chemistry course, and a uniform.
My mother works two jobs, and the list costs $250, which is more than we have.
I love chemistry and want to become a teacher. A laptop will let me do coursework at home instead of waiting for library hours.
I'll take care of everything you give me and I promise to work hard.
Items on the list: laptop, uniform, shoes, textbooks, calculator and a bag.
Where the $250 goes:
• Laptop: $125
• School uniform and shoes: $30
• Textbooks and workbooks: $65
• Calculator, stationery and a school bag: $30
Thank you so much.

Take care. Good luck with the exams, you've got this. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend. Love from Belfast
Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Zola.
Laptop is $125 of it. Everything else is listed in the story and nothing outside that list comes out of this page. It helps to be asked.
hang in there, Zola. Shared it with a few friends. I went through something like this 9 years ago and strangers helped me out. Blessings!
You're not alone, Zola. Shared this with my family.

Take care. As a teacher I love seeing someone work this hard to learn. Greetings from Amritsar
