I'm Zahra, 17, in my final year of high school. My parents work long hours and didn't go to university, so there's no one at home who can help me understand applications, deadlines or financial aid. I'd like to study civil engineering.
I have a 3.7 average, I volunteer at my church youth group and I have a draft of my personal statement. What I need is someone to read my essays, tell me honestly what's weak, and explain how scholarships work.
I'm looking for an hour a week until November. We can do it by video from anywhere. My mother will be at home during every call, and the school counselor knows about this request.

So sorry you're going through this, Zahra. Education changes everything, hope you graduate with honors. I went through something like this 11 years ago and strangers helped me out!
I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Thinking of Bandung.
