Yoko is the first person in the family to go to university. She is studying an electrical engineering diploma at Tokyo University, and is two terms away from graduating. She has worked as a shop assistant to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $2,300. The registrar has said Yoko can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Yoko has a distinction average, and a faculty supervisor has written in support. Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Yoko would lose her place and scholarship eligibility. Yoko isn't asking for a handout - She wants to finish what She started and help the next student. The payment will go directly to the Tokyo University bursar's office. I'll post the receipt.
