I'm Yasir, 18, in my final year of high school. My parents work long hours and didn't go to university, so there's no one at home who can help me understand applications, deadlines or financial aid. I'd like to study computer science.
I have a 3.7 average, I volunteer at the local library and I have a draft of my personal statement. What I need is someone to read my essays, tell me honestly what's weak, and explain how scholarships work.
I'm looking for an hour a week until February. We can do it by video from anywhere. My mother will be at home during every call, and the school counselor knows about this request.
Thanks for reading. It took me a long time to ask.
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

hope it all works out. As a teacher I love seeing someone work this hard to learn. Sent it to 34 people at work. All the best.
gave what I could, wish it was more. It's not much but it's yours. All the best
Thanks for sharing this, Yasir. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. After 16 years in logistics I know how hard it's to ask for anything.
so sorry you're going through this. Shared it with a few friends
you're not alone. As a teacher I love seeing someone work this hard to learn. God bless.
