Yard rescue for José, 76: fallen trees and overgrown beds
José, 76, can no longer manage the yard after a storm; we're looking for helpers with chainsaws and rakes.

I'm 76 and I have lived in this house in Los Angeles for 49 years. After the storm in August, two large branches and a fallen fence have blocked the back door and the garden path. I can no longer manage them myself because of a heart condition.
The council has told me it will be six weeks before they can send someone. I'd feel much safer if it were cleared sooner.
Help needed: a small team to cut, stack and carry away branches. I'll provide tea, sandwiches and the green waste bags. A few hours will do.
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

this could happen to any of us. I'm in construction myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you
Wishing you peace. Hope the doctors have good news. My husband and I read this together. Thinking of Los Angeles.
Wishing José a smooth procedure and a full recovery. I have a 9 year old who wants to send good wishes too!
Hope the doctors have good news. Put this on a community board in Kathmandu this morning. Take care
