Yard rescue for Hiba, 92: fallen trees and overgrown beds
Garden rescue day in Alexandria: bring gloves and a rake.

I'm 92 and I have lived in this house in Alexandria for 40 years. After the storm in July, two large branches and a fallen fence have blocked the back door and the garden path. I can no longer manage them myself because of a recent fall.
The council has told me it will be six weeks before they can send someone. I'd feel much safer if it were cleared sooner.
Help needed: someone with a chainsaw, plus a few people with rakes and gloves. I'll provide tea, sandwiches and the green waste bags. A few hours will do.
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

so sorry you're going through this, Hiba. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. All the best
Thinking of you, Hiba. Get well soon. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend. Greetings from Bakersfield.
Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Thinking of Alexandria.
