Yard rescue for Benjamin, 85: fallen trees and overgrown beds
Garden rescue day in San Diego: bring gloves and a rake.

I'm 85 and I have lived in this house in San Diego for 35 years. After the storm in August, two large branches and a fallen fence have blocked the back door and the garden path. I can no longer manage them myself because of arthritis.
The council has told me it will be eight weeks before they can send someone. I'd feel much safer if it were cleared sooner.
Help needed: someone with a chainsaw, plus a few people with rakes and gloves. I'll provide tea, sandwiches and the green waste bags. A few hours will do.
Thank you for reading my story.

You're not alone, Benjamin. Your post was clear and honest. Thinking of San Diego.
Rooting for you. I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. After 7 years in construction I know how hard it is to ask for anything. Take care.
