Yakubu served fourteen years; now needs help to get home
Yakubu served fourteen years in the navy; $500 would cover a trained service dog and handler course.

I served fourteen years in the navy and was discharged in 2024 with hearing damage and PTSD. I have been waiting fourteen months for support, and meanwhile I'm sleeping at my brother's place.
I have a plan: a trained service dog and handler course. The quote I have comes to $500.
I'm receiving counseling through the veterans' clinic and am committed to my recovery. Structure and a stable place to live are the missing pieces.
I'd be grateful for any help and will share updates on how I'm doing.
I'll post invoices, with personal details hidden.
Where the $500 goes:
• Essential household items: $80
• Training provider fees: $260
• Housing deposit and first month: $160
If you're reading this, thank you.
Updates from Yakubu
Good news. Because of your gifts ($102 in total) the first invoice got paid this week. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
