I'm facing a work-permit appeal. My hearing is scheduled for October, and the filing fees and the lawyer's retainer come to $1,050. I have been told by three legal-aid offices that their waiting list is longer than my deadline. I have all of my paperwork ready, and my caseworker at the Birmingham Community Legal Centre has confirmed that my case is valid. If I miss the deadline I could lose my right to stay with my family and my job. My children were born here and this is the only home they know. I'll share any non-sensitive updates as the case moves along. Funds cover only the filing fees, translations and attorney retainer. Where the $1,050 goes: • Certified translations and document copies: $240 • Filing and biometrics fees: $630 • Court-appointed interpreter and travel: $180 Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.

  1. We're at 97% thanks to 10 of you. the plan for court-appointed interpreter and travel is now scheduled. More news soon.

  2. Thank you all. We're at 79% now ($833). I'm honestly stunned. I made the first payment toward certified translations and document copies.

Is there anything that isn't money that would help Rebecca?

    • Rebecca WhitmoreOwnerAnswer

Sharing the link is the biggest thing. And if you know anything about certified translations and document copies, advice is welcome too. Appreciate you taking the time.
