I coordinate donations at the Lotus Community Church in San Francisco. Every year around this time we hear from families who have nothing warm for their children, and this year demand has more than doubled.
We're collecting clean, gently used or new coats, boots, hats, gloves and scarves in sizes 2 to 14 years. If you're in San Francisco, we can arrange a pick-up or you can drop things at the Lotus Community Church on Sunday between 9am and 3pm.
If you're elsewhere, you may offer to sponsor a coat through a local shop - message in the comments and we can coordinate.
Items go to families directly and the rest to the the Lotus Community Church clothing bank, which is open to everyone.
Thank you so much.

shared this with my family. I hope February is when things finally get easier. God bless.
Stay strong, Seung-woo. I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. God bless.
Wishing you the best, Seung-woo. Shared this with my family. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too.
Rent stress is the worst. Hope this helps. Love from Ballarat
