I coordinate donations at Liberty Refugee Centre in Mardan. Every year around this time we hear from families who have nothing warm for their children, and this year demand has more than doubled. We're collecting clean, gently used or new coats, boots, hats, gloves and scarves in sizes kids' 3 to 5 and women's S-L. If you're in Mardan, we can arrange a pick-up or you can drop things at Liberty Refugee Centre on Thursday between 9am and 2pm. If you're elsewhere, you may offer to sponsor a coat through a local shop - message in the comments and we can coordinate. Items go to families directly and the rest to the Liberty Refugee Centre clothing bank, which is open to everyone. Thank you for reading my story.

  • Wishing you peace. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Love from Houston.

    • Keep going. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Love from London!

          • best of luck, Tayyaba. Hope you get there. Sent it to 11 people at work. Thinking of Mardan.
