I coordinate donations at the Cedar Community Church in San Jose. Every year around this time we hear from families who have nothing warm for their children, and this year demand has more than doubled.
We're collecting clean, gently used or new coats, boots, hats, gloves and scarves in sizes toddler through teen. If you're in San Jose, we can arrange a pick-up or you can drop things at the Cedar Community Church on Tuesday between 9am and 4pm.
If you're elsewhere, you may offer to sponsor a coat through a local shop - message in the comments and we can coordinate.
Items go to families directly and the rest to the the Cedar Community Church clothing bank, which is open to everyone.
I hope life is good to you.

Sending good thoughts, Ruth. Shared this with my family. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Blessings
best of luck, Ruth. Hope you get there. Take care.
