I coordinate donations at the Unity Primary School in Howrah. Every year around this time we hear from families who have nothing warm for their children, and this year demand has more than doubled.
We're collecting clean, gently used or new coats, boots, hats, gloves and scarves in sizes 2 to 14 years. If you're in Howrah, we can arrange a pick-up or you can drop things at the Unity Primary School on Monday between 10am and 3pm.
If you're elsewhere, you may offer to sponsor a coat through a local shop - message in the comments and we can coordinate.
Items go to families directly and the rest to the the Unity Primary School clothing bank, which is open to everyone.
Thank you for reading my story.

Good luck. Your post was clear and honest. I went through something like this 6 years ago and strangers helped me out. All the best.
