Weekly meals for students and shift workers in Newcastle upon Tyne
The Community Pantry pantry in Newcastle upon Tyne is running low just as demand rises; $3,300 will stock it for 9 weeks.

Since 2023, our volunteer team has run Community Pantry every Thursday from the back of the parish hall. We started with 25 families, and now we feed 321 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 46% this harvest gap, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 11 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Newcastle upon Tyne market and keep every receipt.
Each $30 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $3,300 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $1,650
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $910
• Baby formula and diapers: $440
• Refrigeration and electricity: $300
Every share and every dollar helps.

Thinking of you, Christian. Great idea, hope you get there.
You're not alone, Christian. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. It's not much but it's yours. All the best.
I hope things turn around soon. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day. Thinking of Newcastle upon Tyne.
Hope it all works out, Christian. Shared this with my family. Take care.
