Weekly meals for families facing hunger in Mysuru
The Bread & Beans Kitchen pantry in Mysuru is running low just as demand rises; $600 will stock it for 7 weeks.

Since 2023, our volunteer team has run Bread & Beans Kitchen every Thursday from the back of a borrowed garage. We started with 9 families, and now we feed 152 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 54% this school holidays, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 20 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Mysuru market and keep every receipt.
Each $10 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $600 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $350
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $130
• Baby formula and diapers: $85
• Refrigeration and electricity: $35
