Weekly meals for families and seniors in Rosario

The Open Hands Pantry pantry in Rosario is running low just as demand rises; $600 will stock it for 9 weeks.

Since 2020, our volunteer team has run Open Hands Pantry every Thursday from the back of a borrowed garage. We started with 20 families, and now we feed 170 each week. Donations have dropped by about 51% this summer, while the line has grown every single week. We rely on volunteers - 7 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Rosario market and keep every receipt. Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week. All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs. Where the $600 goes: • Baby formula and diapers: $170 • Fresh vegetables and fruit: $170 • Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $260 Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure. - Hugo
