Weekly meals for families and seniors in Mwanza
Achieng runs a volunteer pantry feeding 378 families; this fund restocks shelves for the rainy season.

Since 2022, our volunteer team has run Bread & Beans Kitchen every Wednesday from the back of the parish hall. We started with 15 families, and now we feed 378 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 39% this rainy season, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 7 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Mwanza market and keep every receipt.
Each $10 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $200 goes:
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $85
• Baby formula and diapers: $55
• Refrigeration and electricity: $60
