We lost everything in the fire in the settlement: help the Sunrise neighborhood start over
After the fire in the settlement, families in the Sunrise neighborhood need clean water, roofing materials and bedding.

The fire in the settlement hit the Sunrise neighborhood on 20 January. My home was one of 56 damaged, and 10 families are still in temporary shelter at the sports club.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates.
Where the $1,150 goes:
• Roofing sheets and timber: $480
• Clean water and purification supplies: $110
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $80
• Food parcels for displaced families: $220
• Tools and labor for repairs: $260
Thanks for reading all this.

Hang in there. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend. Greetings from Nashik.
Thinking of you, Kamal. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Sent it to 19 people at work.
You're not alone. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Love from Los Angeles
Take care. I hope things turn around soon. I have a 7 year old who wants to send good wishes too.
