Wawan can't leave home - help build a ramp
Help Wawan regain independence: a simple ramp build.
๐ฎ๐ฉ Jakarta Selatan, DKI Jakarta, Indonesia396 views
Wawan has used a wheelchair since 2025, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Wawan can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair.
The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two.
The ramp has to meet the local accessibility standard of 1:12 slope, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate eight hours of work.
Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Wawan's family will cook lunch for the team.
Thank you so much.

Hope things get better soon, Ani. I hope things turn around soon. Please keep us posted.
This could happen to any of us. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. Thinking of Jakarta Selatan
Thinking of you and your family. I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day!
Sending love, Ani. This could happen to any of us. Put this on a community board in Mobile this morning. Blessings
Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Thinking of Jakarta Selatan.
