I coordinate donations at the Unity Community Church in Coyoacán. Every year around this time we hear from families who have nothing warm for their children, and this year demand has more than doubled. We're collecting clean, gently used or new coats, boots, hats, gloves and scarves in sizes toddler through teen. If you're in Coyoacán, we can arrange a pick-up or you can drop things at the Unity Community Church on Monday between 9am and 3pm. If you're elsewhere, you may offer to sponsor a coat through a local shop - message in the comments and we can coordinate. Items go to families directly and the rest to the the Unity Community Church clothing bank, which is open to everyone. Thank you so much.

  • So sorry you're going through this, Carmen. Shared this with my family. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry.

    • Good luck. Shared it with a few friends. My neighbor in Cairo donated after I showed her your page. God bless

      • Wishing you the best, Carmen. It takes guts to ask. Well done.

        • Sending strength. It takes guts to ask. Well done. My husband and I read this together. Greetings from Multan

          • good luck. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Love from San Jose

            • sending good thoughts. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust. Love from Springfield

              • Wishing you peace, Carmen. I hope your landlord gives you a bit more time while this comes together. My husband and I read this together.

                • Stay strong, Carmen. Hope you get there. After 7 years in construction I know how hard it's to ask for anything

                  • Thinking of you and your family, Carmen. This could happen to any of us. Thinking of Coyoacán!

                    • Hope things get better soon, Carmen. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Greetings from Saint Petersburg.

                      • You're not alone, Carmen. I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. All the best.

                        • best of luck. A secure home matters so much. Hope you're settled soon
