I coordinate donations at the Maple Community Church in Kakamega. Every year around this time we hear from families who have nothing warm for their children, and this year demand has more than doubled. We're collecting clean, gently used or new coats, boots, hats, gloves and scarves in sizes 2 to 14 years. If you're in Kakamega, we can arrange a pick-up or you can drop things at the Maple Community Church on Friday between 9am and 2pm. If you're elsewhere, you may offer to sponsor a coat through a local shop - message in the comments and we can coordinate. Items go to families directly and the rest to the the Maple Community Church clothing bank, which is open to everyone. Thanks for being kind about this.

  • sending good thoughts. Your post was clear and honest. We're a small family in Thiruvananthapuram but we're thinking of you. Love from Thiruvananthapuram.

    • Good luck. I hope your landlord gives you a bit more time while this comes together. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Blessings
