I coordinate donations at the Lotus Primary School in Essen. Every year around this time we hear from families who have nothing warm for their children, and this year demand has more than doubled. We're collecting clean, gently used or new coats, boots, hats, gloves and scarves in sizes 2 to 14 years. If you're in Essen, we can arrange a pick-up or you can drop things at the Lotus Primary School on Saturday between 10am and 2pm. If you're elsewhere, you may offer to sponsor a coat through a local shop - message in the comments and we can coordinate. Items go to families directly and the rest to the the Lotus Primary School clothing bank, which is open to everyone. You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

Hope it all works out, Julia. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double

    • Good luck, Julia. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Thinking of Essen.

      • Your post was clear and honest. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust. Thinking of Essen.

        • Wishing you the best, Julia. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. I'll check back for the next update. Take care
