I coordinate donations at Lotus Refugee Centre in Hamburg. Every year around this time we hear from families who have nothing warm for their children, and this year demand has more than doubled. We're collecting clean, gently used or new coats, boots, hats, gloves and scarves in sizes kids' 3 to 5 and women's S-L. If you're in Hamburg, we can arrange a pick-up or you can drop things at Lotus Refugee Centre on Saturday between 11am and 2pm. If you're elsewhere, you may offer to sponsor a coat through a local shop - message in the comments and we can coordinate. Items go to families directly and the rest to the Lotus Refugee Centre clothing bank, which is open to everyone. Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. After 8 years in nursing I know how hard it's to ask for anything. All the best.

                          • Stay strong. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. My colleague had a similar thing happen so this one hit home.
