Wambui's final semester of a teaching qualification in Nairobi
A first-generation student, Wambui needs help covering tuition for the final stretch of a teaching qualification.
🇰🇪 Nairobi, Nairobi, Kenya1,357 views
Wambui is the first person in the family to go to university. She is studying a teaching qualification at Nairobi University, and is two terms away from graduating. She has worked as a delivery rider to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $400.
The registrar has said Wambui can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Wambui has a 3.6 average, and an academic advisor has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Wambui would lose her place and scholarship eligibility.
Wambui isn't asking for a handout - She wants to finish what She started and help the next student.
The payment will go directly to the Nairobi University bursar's office. I'll post the receipt.
Where the $400 goes:
• Exam and lab fees: $25
• Final term tuition: $310
• Textbooks and materials: $65
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.
