Walid served twelve years; now needs help to get home
A marines veteran in Saint-Denis needs help with a trained service dog and handler course after leaving service with post-traumatic stress.

I served twelve years in the marines and was discharged in 2025 with post-traumatic stress. I have been waiting eleven months for support, and meanwhile I'm sleeping at my brother's place.
I have a plan: a trained service dog and handler course. The quote I have comes to $5,050.
I'm receiving counseling through the veterans' clinic and am committed to my recovery. Structure and a stable place to live are the missing pieces.
I'd be grateful for any help and will share updates on how I'm doing.
Money will be paid to the training provider and the landlord directly.
Where the $5,050 goes:
• Training provider fees: $2,650
• Housing deposit and first month: $1,600
• Transport to appointments: $440
• Essential household items: $360
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

thinking of you and your family. Your post was clear and honest. My neighbor in Cambridge donated after I showed her your page. Love from Cambridge.
you're not alone. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend. Thinking of Saint-Denis.
stay strong, Walid. Your post was clear and honest. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too.
