Embakasi
Wafula was diagnosed with stomach cancer in August. The oncology team at Embakasi Cancer Centre has planned 4 rounds of treatment, starting in November. He will be away from work for about 12 weeks. Wafula is 40, worked as a shop owner until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Embakasi Cancer Centre 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders. I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes. Where the $2,000 goes: • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $1,450 • Scans and lab work: $270 • Household costs while unable to work: $160 • Transport to Embakasi Cancer Centre: $120 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support. - Daniel

  • Wishing you peace, Daniel. Hope the treatment goes smoothly and recovery is quick. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. All the best

    • keep going. This could happen to any of us. I went through something like this 12 years ago and strangers helped me out. Thinking of Embakasi.
