Volunteers wanted: Emily's yard after the storm
Fallen branches and overgrowth are blocking Emily's path; a few hours of help would make a big difference.

I'm 76 and I have lived in this house in Bakersfield for 38 years. After the storm in September, two large branches and a fallen fence have blocked the back door and the garden path. I can no longer manage them myself because of poor eyesight.
The council has told me it will be twelve weeks before they can send someone. I'd feel much safer if it were cleared sooner.
Help needed: two people with loppers and a wheelbarrow. I'll provide tea, sandwiches and the green waste bags. A few hours will do.
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

Hope things get better soon. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Greetings from Santos.
reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it
