Volunteers wanted: Babatunde's yard after the storm
Babatunde, 71, can no longer manage the yard after a storm; we're looking for helpers with chainsaws and rakes.
🇳🇬 Lagos, Lagos, Nigeria999 views
I'm 71 and I have lived in this house in Lagos for 42 years. After the storm in August, two large branches and a fallen fence have blocked the back door and the garden path. I can no longer manage them myself because of poor eyesight.
The council has told me it will be ten weeks before they can send someone. I'd feel much safer if it were cleared sooner.
Help needed: someone with a chainsaw, plus a few people with rakes and gloves. I'll provide tea, sandwiches and the green waste bags. A few hours will do.
Thanks for being kind about this.
