Volunteers wanted: Aurélie's yard after the storm

Fallen branches and overgrowth are blocking Aurélie's path; a few hours of help would make a big difference.

I'm 72 and I have lived in this house in Ottawa for 41 years. After the storm in August, two large branches and a fallen fence have blocked the back door and the garden path. I can no longer manage them myself because of arthritis. The council has told me it will be twelve weeks before they can send someone. I'd feel much safer if it were cleared sooner. Help needed: two people with loppers and a wheelbarrow. I'll provide tea, sandwiches and the green waste bags. A few hours will do. Thank you for reading my story.

  • Hang in there, Aurélie. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected.

    • Hope the treatment goes smoothly and recovery is quick. Sent it to 11 people at work. Love from Nakuru

      • Hope the treatment goes smoothly and recovery is quick. I'll check back for the next update. Greetings from Shubra

        • Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Thinking of Ottawa.

          • Thinking of you and your family. Wishing Aurélie a smooth procedure and a full recovery. I went through something like this 3 years ago and strangers helped me out.
