Volunteers needed to fix a leaking roof for Prakash in Riverside
Could you spare one long weekend to help repair a leaking roof in Riverside?
🇺🇸 Riverside, California, United States1,223 views
I'm a disabled veteran living in Riverside. During the last storm water started coming through the ceiling in 2 places, and the kids' bedroom is no longer usable. A roofer quoted $1,950, which isn't something I can pay.
The good news: a local hardware store has donated the corrugated iron sheets and timber. What I don't have is people to do the work. I'm looking for three or four volunteers who can help over one long weekend.
Experience helps, but it isn't essential - I'll have a licensed roofer supervising for safety. All you need is to be comfortable with heights or willing to help from the ground. I'll provide lunch, water and lots of thanks.
The work will be done on the ground and roof with proper harnesses. If you can only help for a few hours, that's welcome too.
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

Praying for you. I hope things turn around soon. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day. Blessings
I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. I have a 14 year old who wants to send good wishes too. Take care!
It takes guts to ask. Well done. My neighbor in San Jose donated after I showed her your page
Good luck, Prakash. It takes guts to ask. Well done. I hope October is when things finally get easier. Thinking of Riverside
Thinking of you and your family, Prakash. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. My husband and I read this together. Greetings from Granada.
