Volunteers needed to fix a leaking roof for Girma in Addis Ababa
Could you spare three weekday mornings to help repair a leaking roof in Addis Ababa?

I'm a widowed grandmother living in Addis Ababa. During the last storm water started coming through the ceiling in 4 places, and the kids' bedroom is no longer usable. A roofer quoted $570, which isn't something I can pay.
The good news: a local hardware store has donated the tiles and battens. What I don't have is people to do the work. I'm looking for a small crew who can help over three weekday mornings.
Experience helps, but it isn't essential - I'll have a licensed roofer supervising for safety. All you need is sturdy shoes, gloves and a willingness to work. I'll provide lunch, water and lots of thanks.
The work will be done on the ground and roof with proper harnesses. If you can only help for a few hours, that's welcome too.
Thank you so much.

Stay strong. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Sent it to 32 people at work. Greetings from Sandton!
keep going. This could happen to any of us. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Love from New Delhi
Thanks for sharing this, Girma. Shared this with my family. I went through something like this 3 years ago and strangers helped me out. God bless.
Stay strong, Girma. I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day. Greetings from Caxias do Sul.
hope it all works out, Girma. Your post was clear and honest. Please keep us posted. Take care.
