Volunteer tutor needed: mathematics for a motivated student in Sheffield
Online or in-person tutoring in mathematics for a bright student in Sheffield.
🇬🇧 Sheffield, England, United Kingdom276 views
My niece, Cynthia, is 13 and in the final year of school. Cynthia loves school but mathematics has been a struggle since the school was closed during the floods. The school-leaving exam is in August.
We can't afford a private tutor, and the school's free sessions are full. We're looking for a volunteer who could spend one or two hours a week, in person in Sheffield or online, for about sixteen weeks.
Cynthia is polite, hardworking and eager. We have a quiet space and a laptop for online sessions. I'll always be at home for in-person sessions.
If you're a teacher, student or professional who feels comfortable in mathematics, you could change the course of Cynthia's year.
Thanks for being kind about this.

As a teacher I love seeing someone work this hard to learn. My mother had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. All the best
Good luck, Owen. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier.
Best of luck. This could happen to any of us. My neighbor had a similar thing happen so this one hit home
