Epe
My younger sister, Joy, is 14 and in Grade 11. Joy loves school but computer science has been a struggle since the school was closed during the strikes. The university entrance exam is in July. We can't afford a private tutor, and the school's free sessions are full. We're looking for a volunteer who could spend one or two hours a week, in person in Epe or online, for about twenty weeks. Joy is polite, hardworking and eager. We have a quiet space and a laptop for online sessions. I'll always be at home for in-person sessions. If you're a teacher, student or professional who feels comfortable in computer science, you could change the course of Joy's year. You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

  • Keep going. Shared this with my family. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it.

Sending good thoughts, Yewande. It takes guts to ask. Well done. We're a small family in Gliwice but we're thinking of you. All the best.

Best of luck, Yewande. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double.

          • Take care. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. After 6 years in engineering I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Take care.
