My daughter, Nomsa, is 15 and in Grade 11. Nomsa loves school but chemistry has been a struggle since the school was closed during the floods. The university entrance exam is in November. We can't afford a private tutor, and the school's free sessions are full. We're looking for a volunteer who could spend one or two hours a week, in person in Soweto or online, for about sixteen weeks. Nomsa is polite, hardworking and eager. We have a quiet space and a laptop for online sessions. I'll always be at home for in-person sessions. If you're a teacher, student or professional who feels comfortable in chemistry, you could change the course of Nomsa's year. Thank you for reading my story.

  • take care, Priya. This could happen to any of us. My neighbor in Xalapa donated after I showed her your page. Blessings

    • Wishing you peace. As a teacher I love seeing someone work this hard to learn. Wish I lived closer to Edinburgh so I could bring a meal. Take care.

      • Sending strength, Priya. Shared this with my family. I hope November is when things finally get easier

        • Stay strong. Shared it with a few friends. Sent it to 15 people at work.

          • Stay strong. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Put this on a community board in Jinja this morning. Blessings
