Volunteer drivers wanted: Salman's dialysis appointments
A rota of drivers to the Lahore Dialysis Unit would keep Salman on treatment. Even one trip a week helps.
🇵🇰 Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan896 views
Salman has been on dialysis for 3 years and until recently drove to the Lahore Dialysis Unit alone. After an eyesight problem, Salman can no longer drive. Taxis cost more than the family can pay three times a week.
We're building a rota of volunteer drivers. Each session is 4 hours, including the trip there and back; most volunteers take one regular day. The journey is about 18 km each way.
Salman is cheerful company. You'd need a car in good condition and a clean driving record. We'll cover your fuel costs, and the family will send you home with homemade food.
Please say which day works for you in the comments.
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.
- effort
- one weekly trip
- format
- In person in Lahore
- skills
- reliable car, clean driving record

Hope things get better soon, Waqas. Gave what I could, wish it was more.
keep going, Waqas. Get well soon. Love from Tampa.
Rooting for you, Waqas. Shared this with my family. My colleague had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Love from Cluj-Napoca
Take care, Waqas. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Thinking of Lahore.
I hope things turn around soon. After 13 years in customer support I know how hard it is to ask for anything.
