Volunteer drivers wanted: Roberto's dialysis appointments

A rota of drivers to Yonkers Regional Medical Center would keep Roberto on treatment. Even one trip a week helps.

Roberto has been on dialysis for 3 years and until recently drove to Yonkers Regional Medical Center alone. After a foot amputation, Roberto can no longer drive. Taxis cost more than the family can pay three times a week. We're building a rota of volunteer drivers. Each session is 3 hours, including the trip there and back; most volunteers take one regular day. The journey is about 31 km each way. Roberto is cheerful company. You'd need a car in good condition and a clean driving record. We'll cover your fuel costs, and the family will send you home with homemade food. Please say which day works for you in the comments. Glad we found this place.
