Volunteer drivers wanted: Namukasa's dialysis appointments
A rota of drivers to Jinja Regional Medical Center would keep Namukasa on treatment. Even one trip a week helps.
🇺🇬 Jinja, Eastern Region, Uganda933 views
Namukasa has been on dialysis for 1 years and until recently drove to Jinja Regional Medical Center alone. After a foot amputation, Namukasa can no longer drive. Taxis cost more than the family can pay three times a week.
We're building a rota of volunteer drivers. Each session is 3 hours, including the trip there and back; most volunteers take one regular day. The journey is about 25 km each way.
Namukasa is cheerful company. You'd need a car in good condition and a clean driving record. We'll cover your fuel costs, and the family will send you home with homemade food.
Please say which day works for you in the comments.
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Put this on a community board in Udaipur this morning.
Sending love. Shared it with a few friends. After 16 years in social work I know how hard it is to ask for anything. Love from Limerick
Hope it all works out, Naliaka. Get well soon.
Rooting for you. Wishing Namukasa a smooth procedure and a full recovery. My neighbor in Guadalajara donated after I showed her your page.
Wishing you the best, Naliaka. Hope the treatment goes smoothly and recovery is quick. Thinking of Jinja.
