Volunteer drivers wanted: Maayan's dialysis appointments

Could you drive Maayan to the Jerusalem Dialysis Unit on Wednesday? A rota of 5 drivers is forming.

Maayan has been on dialysis for 3 years and until recently drove to the Jerusalem Dialysis Unit alone. After an eyesight problem, Maayan can no longer drive. Taxis cost more than the family can pay three times a week. We're building a rota of volunteer drivers. Each session is 4 hours, including the trip there and back; most volunteers take one regular day. The journey is about 10 km each way. Maayan is cheerful company. You'd need a car in good condition and a clean driving record. We'll cover your fuel costs, and the family will send you home with homemade food. Please say which day works for you in the comments. I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

  • Rooting for you, Tomer. Get well soon. I went through something like this 7 years ago and strangers helped me out.
