Kausar needs dialysis three times a week and has lost the ability to drive; volunteer drivers can each take one day.

Kausar has been on dialysis for 5 years and until recently drove to the Multan Kidney Centre alone. After an eyesight problem, Kausar can no longer drive. Taxis cost more than the family can pay three times a week. We're building a rota of volunteer drivers. Each session is 3 hours, including the trip there and back; most volunteers take one regular day. The journey is about 28 km each way. Kausar is cheerful company. You'd need a car in good condition and a clean driving record. We'll cover your fuel costs, and the family will send you home with homemade food. Please say which day works for you in the comments. Thank you for reading my story.

  • Take care. This could happen to any of us. I went through something like this 10 years ago and strangers helped me out. All the best.

    • Thinking of you, Sana. Hope the treatment goes smoothly and recovery is quick. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day. Blessings.

        • hope things get better soon, Sana. It takes guts to ask. Well done. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. God bless.
