Ilana has been on dialysis for 3 years and until recently drove to the Jerusalem Kidney Centre alone. After an eyesight problem, Ilana can no longer drive. Taxis cost more than the family can pay three times a week. We're building a rota of volunteer drivers. Each session is 3 hours, including the trip there and back; most volunteers take one regular day. The journey is about 11 km each way. Ilana is cheerful company. You'd need a car in good condition and a clean driving record. We'll cover your fuel costs, and the family will send you home with homemade food. Please say which day works for you in the comments. Thanks for being kind about this.

  • Best of luck, Itai. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Take care

    • Rooting for you, Itai. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. My husband and I read this together.
