Volunteer drivers wanted: Frank's dialysis appointments
Could you drive Frank to the Christchurch Kidney Centre on Friday? A rota of 4 drivers is forming.
🇳🇿 Christchurch, Canterbury, New Zealand1,014 views
Frank has been on dialysis for 2 years and until recently drove to the Christchurch Kidney Centre alone. After surgery on their hand, Frank can no longer drive. Taxis cost more than the family can pay three times a week.
We're building a rota of volunteer drivers. Each session is 4 hours, including the trip there and back; most volunteers take one regular day. The journey is about 33 km each way.
Frank is cheerful company. You'd need a car in good condition and a clean driving record. We'll cover your fuel costs, and the family will send you home with homemade food.
Please say which day works for you in the comments.
