Volunteer drivers wanted: Eliane's dialysis appointments
A rota of drivers to Ribeirão Preto General Hospital would keep Eliane on treatment. Even one trip a week helps.
🇧🇷 Ribeirão Preto, São Paulo, Brazil719 views
Eliane has been on dialysis for 5 years and until recently drove to Ribeirão Preto General Hospital alone. After an eyesight problem, Eliane can no longer drive. Taxis cost more than the family can pay three times a week.
We're building a rota of volunteer drivers. Each session is 4 hours, including the trip there and back; most volunteers take one regular day. The journey is about 29 km each way.
Eliane is cheerful company. You'd need a car in good condition and a clean driving record. We'll cover your fuel costs, and the family will send you home with homemade food.
Please say which day works for you in the comments.
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

- one weekly trip
- format
- In person in Ribeirão Preto

Wishing you the best. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Love from San Francisco
