Volunteer drivers wanted: Dhanalakshmi's dialysis appointments
A rota of drivers to the Mumbai Dialysis Unit would keep Dhanalakshmi on treatment. Even one trip a week helps.
🇮🇳 Mumbai, Maharashtra, India807 views
Dhanalakshmi has been on dialysis for 1 years and until recently drove to the Mumbai Dialysis Unit alone. After an eyesight problem, Dhanalakshmi can no longer drive. Taxis cost more than the family can pay three times a week.
We're building a rota of volunteer drivers. Each session is 4 hours, including the trip there and back; most volunteers take one regular day. The journey is about 9 km each way.
Dhanalakshmi is cheerful company. You'd need a car in good condition and a clean driving record. We'll cover your fuel costs, and the family will send you home with homemade food.
Please say which day works for you in the comments.
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

Thinking of you, Prakash. I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side.
keep going, Prakash. This could happen to any of us. I went through something like this 2 years ago and strangers helped me out.
Thinking of you and your family, Prakash. Gave what I could, wish it was more. I'm in nursing myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you.
