Volunteer day: School Supplies Giveaway, Oakland
Our small team in Oakland is running the School Supplies Giveaway and needs volunteers for set-up, serving and clean-up.
🇺🇸 Oakland, California, United States1,532 views
Every year the School Supplies Giveaway brings together 101 neighbors in Oakland. I help organize it with 6 other volunteers, and this year our numbers are down.
We need people for serving food, washing up and welcoming guests. Shifts are two to three hours long and you can pick the one that suits you. Food and drinks are provided for all volunteers.
It's a long-standing tradition, and our goal is to keep it free. No experience is necessary - we'll brief everyone at the start of the day.
If you can come with a friend, even better. Please say in the comments which shift works for you.
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

So sorry you're going through this, Ezra. Shared it with a few friends. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double
Keep going, Ezra. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust.
Take care. Shared this with my family. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. Thinking of Oakland!
