Volunteer day: Refugee Welcome Picnic, Portland
Our small team in Portland is running the Refugee Welcome Picnic and needs volunteers for set-up, serving and clean-up.

Every year the Refugee Welcome Picnic brings together 451 neighbors in Portland. I help organize it with 4 other volunteers, and this year our numbers are down.
We need people for serving food, washing up and welcoming guests. Shifts are three hours long and you can pick the one that suits you. Food and drinks are provided for all volunteers.
It's a long-standing tradition, and our goal is to keep it free. No experience is necessary - we'll brief everyone at the start of the day.

Hope it all works out. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money.
