Every year the Refugee Welcome Picnic brings together 222 neighbors in Los Angeles. I help organize it with 11 other volunteers, and this year our numbers are down. We need people for serving food, washing up and welcoming guests. Shifts are three hours long and you can pick the one that suits you. Food and drinks are provided for all volunteers. It's a fun day for all ages, and our goal is to keep it free. No experience is necessary - we'll brief everyone at the start of the day. If you can come with a friend, even better. Please say in the comments which shift works for you. I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

  • Good luck. Great idea, hope you get there. We're a small family in Moscow but we're thinking of you. Take care.

    • Wishing you peace. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. I went through something like this 13 years ago and strangers helped me out. Take care

      • Hope it all works out. Shared it with a few friends. Love from Addis Ababa.

        • Sending strength, Bích. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Sent it to 20 people at work. Thinking of Los Angeles.
